Javed Khan (Chairman)

Dr. Javed Khan has diverse experience in the developmental sector. He has received his basic degree in veterinary sciences from

Agriculture University Faisalabad and specialization in Poultry Sciences from the University of Agriculture Peshawar. 

He is currently working with Health Security Partners (HSP) as Program Director and provides leadership and coordination in designing, developing, implementing, and expanding One Health program portfolio and provides technical oversight and ongoing guidance to support the implementation of the program’s technical strategy.

He has started his career from Livestock & Dairy Development Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Veterinary Officer in 1995. He remained with WWF Pakistan from 2001 to 2006 and then Relief International in 2006 as Program Manager.

Dr. Javed Khan has special expertise in program designing and implementation particularly for one health, Zoonoses control, Biorisk Management and Health Security.


Dr. Asghar Ali (Executive Director)

Dr.Asghar Ali spent 24 years in the developmental sector. Originally from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan received his basic degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Veterinary and Animal Science Lahore (UVAS) in 1991 and continued with attaining his M.Phil in Livestock Management & and Poultry Sciences from University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP) in 2000.He has also successfully completed M.Sc. (Hons) in Rural Development from Alama Iqbal Open University Islamabad (AIOU) in 2009. He has also obtained Diploma from School for International Training Brattleboro Vermont United State of America (USA) in 2003 in NGO Leadership Management. He has over 20 years of experience in the development sector and worked in SRSP from 1993 to 2003

His fields of expertise are community mobilization, good governance, leadership Management, Emergency Relief and Coordination with line agencies and local government. He has also provided his services in South Sudan under Relief International in 2012-13. He received his Basic Biorisk Management training in Jordan from Sandia National labs and advanced training in biorisk assessment, biorisk curriculum development from Sandia National Labs in South Africa and Bangkok Thailand.


Dr. Shaukat Khan (General Secretary)

Dr. Shaukat Khan a veterinarian by profession has more than 10 years’ experience in the developmental sector. He worked Livestock & Dairy Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Livestock Trainers and Consultants (LTC) and Relief International Pakistan. In his career, he remained part of capacity building programs and designed various training curricula and training manuals for Livestock farmers, butchers, livestock traders, Community Animal Health Workers and Public Health Workers.

He also supervised 65 labs in-depth biorisk assessments in various veterinary and research labs of livestock department and universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. 

He also implemented Biorisk Management training program for 63 labs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He also remained part of the team who developed 13 standard operating procedures for labs on biosafety and biosecurity.

Dr. Shaukat Khan led the team who developed biosafety guidelines and training manuals on biorisk management and sample collection, transportation, and necropsy.

Dr. Shaukat Khan got series of training on biorisk management, biorisk assessment, BRM course development and sample collection and transportation from Sandia National Labs in Jordan, South Africa and Bangkok from 2013 to 2016.


Dr. Murad Khan (Joint Secretary)

Dr. Murad Khan did Veterinary graduation from Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam in 1992. He joined the Brooke Hospital Pakistan in 1997 and worked on equine management till 2010. He joined Relief International Pakistan in 2012 as Health Officer and promoted to District Manager DI Khan and later on Team Leader in Biorisk Management Project.

Dr. Murad got series of international training in Biorisk Management, Biorisk Assessment, Biorisk Management Course development and Sample Collection, Packaging and transportation from Sandia National Laboratories USA.

He conducted biorisk in-depth lab assessments in veterinary and research labs of livestock department and different universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He has also imparted Biorisk Management training to the lab staff and researchers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.  Dr. Murad Khan is a very keen observer and having excellent communication skills. 


Dr. Inayat Ullah (Finance Secretary)

Dr. Inayatullah has eleven years professional experience in the social sector in different projects at a different position. He is a veterinary graduate having a master degree in Rural Development.   Dr. Inayatullah has worked in past with SRSP and Relief International Pakistan. He remained actively engaged in zoonoses control program and contributed to capacity building, development of awareness materials and training manuals for butchers, livestock traders, veterinary assistants, public and animal health workers and school teachers.

He was part of Biorisk Management project and leaded various biorisk assessments and Biorisk Management training in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

He also contributed to manual development on Biorisk Management for lab and field staff and developed laboratory standard operating procedures. 


Dr. Muhammad Tayyeb (Office Secretary)

Dr. Muhammad Tayyeb is veterinary professional. He has attended international training on Biorisk Management from Irbid, Jordan in 2013 and Pretoria, South Africa in 2015 arranged by Sandia International Laboratory.  In additions to other training he received Training of Facilitators (TOF) course in the Farmer Field Schools (FFS) approach in livestock, Training Workshop on Action Planning, Facilitation Skills and Process Monitoring for the Farmers’ Field School (FFS) Methodology in Livestock, Leadership and Management Skills Training. He comes from the District Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam, Hyderabad in 2002. He has more than ten years of experience in the development sector and has held the following positions:

Dr. Nasir Abbas (Board Member)

Dr. Nasir Abbas is a veterinarian by profession having Ph.D. in Microbiology from Hazara University. He comes from Mansehra District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. After receiving his degree in Veterinary Medicine from University of Veterinary and Animal Science Lahore (UVAS) in 2004 he completed his work in microbiology and was conferred M. Phil in Microbiology.

His fields of expertise are research, training, community mobilization and coordination with universities and research institutes.

Mr. Farooq Shah: Operation & Security Manager

The summary of his profession is that he has got law graduated from University of Peshawar in 2005 & Master International Relation in 2007. Furthermore, he got a Certification Course of Supply Chain from Bioforce Institute France. 

He has overall 9 years working experience with different humanitarian agencies including, Secours Islamique France,  Relief International (US), Medicines du Monde-France (French) Medicines Sans Frontier (France) Merlin International (UK) in various areas of Pakistan including Baluchistan, FATA, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s and now working as Operation & Security Manager with a Association for Biorisk Management.

Further, I attended different internal & external training conducted by internationally recognized bodies like Redr UK and Redr India on Project Proposal Writing, Assessment Methodology & Technique for Community Restoration Cluster, NGOs Financial Management, and Planning & Managing Humanitarian Response in emergency, Communication, Reporting and Time Management, Workshop on the fundamental of supply chain Management and Security Awareness Induction Training.

During his past experience, he has main achievements in the field of supply chain and security management, 

Developed & Design Operational Manual for Association of Biorisk management.

Merging & Unifying Supply Chain Management tools for Medecins du Monde-France.

Capitalizations of security toolkit for Medecins du Monde France.

Handling and managing National Open tender in different Organizations.

Introducing Collection of seal Quotations, Procurement Committee Process in Secours Islamique France.

Reviewing and upgrading the security documents of Secours Islamique France.

Security assessment for different project openings in Medecins du Monde France & Secours Islamique France.

The project needs assessment, Opening of Project in DIK, Tank, Hangu, Charssdda, and Nowshera, Phasing out a strategy of Districts Nowshera, Charssdda, Buner, Swabi in Medecins du Monde-France.


Program Team:

Dr. Mujahid has post-graduation in Public Health and graduation in Veterinary Medicine. He has 07 years of progressive experience in development sector.

Dr. Mujahid received various training on Biorisk Management, Biorisk Assessment, sample collection, handling, and transportation. He contributed in developing training manuals on Biorisk Management, sample collection, handling, transportation, a training manual for public health workers, schoolmaster trainers and community animal’s health workers for zoonoses control. He also developed awareness material and laboratory standard operating procedures.

In BRM project Dr. Mujahid conducted laboratory profiling, in-depth Biorisk assessment, gap analysis and imparted training on Biorisk Management to laboratories staff of Livestock & Dairy Development Department and different Universities of KP and Baluchistan.  His research work in the master was on Thesis prevalence of zoonotic diseases in district Swabi with special reference to tuberculosis.


Dr. Shumaila Mansoor did her graduation in veterinary sciences from Gomal University DI Khan and is now doing her M Phil in microbiology. She has rich experience in capacity building, mobilization, and organization. She has worked with Relief International-Pakistan as Health Officer and later on worked as BRM trainer and biorisk assessor.

She received training in Biorisk Management, biorisk assessment, BRM training development course and sample collection from Sandia National Labs USA.

 


Dr. Zakir Hussain has done master in public health. He has also post-graduation in Animal Nutrition and posts graduate diploma in Business Administration. Dr. Zakir Hussain has 7 years’ experience in the different project at different position Trainer, Training Coordinator, Livestock Specialist, Health Officer and Master Trainer. He worked with Livestock & Dairy Development Department, LTC Peshawar, HUJRA Organization, Relief International- Pakistan and currently working with Association for Biorisk Management as BRM Master Trainer. 

He is a very competent trainer and contributed in BRM training course

designing and development of training manuals, standard operating procedures, and other training materials. He has also conducted many biorisk lab assessments in veterinary labs of livestock department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.


Dr. Sher Baz Bugti belongs to Dera Bugti Balochistan. He is a veterinary graduate having 06 years’ experience in development sector. He got various international training in Biorisk Management, biorisk assessment and sample collection, and transportation.

He has played an active role as BRM trainer and assessor in Relief International Biorisk Management Project and conducted various biorisk assessment and training. 

 


 Dr. Muhammad Aatif Jaffar was born on 23, September 1984 at District Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He graduated from Gomal College of Veterinary Sciences, D.I Khan in session 2002-2005 and completed his post-graduation from the Department of Animal Nutrition, the University of Agriculture Peshawar in session 2015-2016.  

After graduation, he served his initial 3 three years at the growing poultry industry of Pakistan; from 2010 to 2014 he served at the Livestock & Dairy Development Department for the breed improvement of indigenous “Achai” cattle breed of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At this stage of his career he, he joined Relief International as “Health Officer” from 2014 to 2015 for the surveillance, control, and prevention of Zoonotic diseases. In 2015 he served the same organization as “Master Trainer” for the “Institutionalization of Biorisk Management best practices in Pakistan”; till 2016. From 2016 till date he is serving as “Master Trainer” for the cause of Biorisk Management in Pakistan, both at national and international level. 


Dr. Amriz Khan has international exposure and received training from Sandia National Labs in 2015 and 2016 in Biorisk Management, Biorisk assessment and sample collection and transportation. He has imparted BRM training to Veterinary Officers, Lab technicians and field para-veterinary staff in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.Dr. Amriz has 10 years of experience on different projects at national level, Biorisk Management (BRM), livestock for life-Fighting Zoonoses in Pakistan, livestock management, Relief and rehabilitation, early recovery, agriculture, education, Disaster risk reduction (DRR) and Training Need Assessment.

 


Dr. Saif Ullah a veterinarian by profession has 2 years’ national level experience community engagement, capacity building, livestock management, relief & rehabilitation and biorisk management.

He has received training on Biorisk Management, BRM course development and sample collection and transportation from Sandia National Labs.

Dr. Saifullah conducted various biorisk assessments and also imparted BRM training to the veterinary staff of civil veterinary hospitals in various districts of Balochistan. 


Dr. Arshad Jaffar belongs to Chitral a remote district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He is a veterinary graduate has rich experience in livestock management, animal health, zoonoses diseases control and prevention.

He joined Pakistan Dairy Development Company as Farm Production Advisor, Veterinary Consultant and later on joined Relief International as Health Officer. He also worked with Relief International as BRM Master Trainer. He conducted various biorisk assessments, imparted BRM training to the veterinary staff of livestock department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Dr. Arshad Jaffar has international exposure and received training from Sandia National Labs in 2015 and 2016 in Biorisk Management, Biorisk assessment and sample collection and transportation.


Dr. Waqar Ahmad did his graduation in veterinary medicine and master in Public Health.  He has also a postgraduate diploma in community health management. He worked with many international organizations on different positions. He has more than nine years’ e

xperience in disease prevention, livestock management, zoonoses control and Biorisk 

 

Management.

He received a series of International training from Sandia National Laboratories on Biorisk Management (Biosafety & Biosecurity), In-Depth Biorisk Assessment in South Africa, Jordan. He worked on training manuals development, review of different SOPs, training curriculum and awareness messages development, organized and conducted BRM training.
